“Is Trump Acting Out His Childhood Trauma On The People of America?” – this question is explored in the podcast ‘Under The Skin’ with Dr. Gabor Mate – a renown specialist in addiction and childhood trauma.

This interview perfectly explains the effects of a lack of psychological ‘incompleteness’ on one’s leadership – and it’s effect on others.

Do you know leaders yourself who may fall under this banner? And is this one reason we question their credibility to lead? I invite your perspective on this!

Because thing is, when people of power are psychologically ‘incomplete’ and therefore ‘acting out’ unresolved aspects to their psychology, what their life becomes is a constant ‘re-enactment’ (re-acting!) of this incompleteness. During both their private AND working life. Incompleteness which in itself is a major cause of workplace toxicity – am I wrong?!

These incompletions need to be resolved, must be resolved, if one’s leadership is to be credible, and especially if a leader is to be likeable and impact with influence. Jacinta Adern, the NZ Prime Minister, is a perfect example of this completeness – with her stoic strength in expressing her vulnerability and compassion; in healthy balance with her efficient decision making ability – she is complete in her balance between left and right hemispheric activity.

Can we ‘Profile’ for this Incompleteness?

Indeed we have so much personality profiling – yet, how well does it actually test for this? How much does this incompleteness in a person, whether leader or not, cause destruction in the workplace?

Hmm food for thought…

Is Psychological Completeness Possible?

Now, I wonder if you’re asking – but can someone become psychologically complete? Well, only if they want to, just like everything else. After countless hours working with people across all industries, I can assure you, they can. I have seen it time and time again with leaders and staff alike, once they begin the process of understanding their incompletions and their corresponding re-actions, they begin to move into the evolved, credible habit of responding – with increased #selfawareness and #selfinquiry. On the sure path to self-actualisation may I add.

And only then can they be CREDIBLE as a true ‘influencer’ – because they EMBODY this completeness.

Can this level of self-mastery be faked? I invite your contemplation…

Thoughts?
